Ontario’s Office of the Chief Information and Privacy Officer (OCIPO), Ministry of Government Services, provides strategic leadership for a wide range of information management (IM) activities including IM planning, policy and standards development, freedom of information and privacy protection, information security and privacy classification, and intellectual property. The Office provides advice to institutions governed by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA). It also leads communities of practices for FIPPA and MFIPPA Coordinators, information management, legal, policy and technology professionals.
