IM Program Performance Measurement
Performance Measurement (PM) for Information Management (IM) can be as elusive as defining an IM Program. It can be extremely difficult to measure Program performance where no detailed analysis is being done of its component parts.
Applying the basic concepts of PM supported by sound thinking and decision making can help an organization identify priorities and take action to improve the component functions and activities of an IM Program. This can lead to increased client satisfaction and organizational support for the overall Program.
In this interactive workshop, Bob and participants will explore the fundamentals of PM including basic concepts, tools and methodologies, PM metrics and various techniques for data collection and analysis.
In group exercises, workshop participants will;
- Identify common IM Program component functions, activities and processes,
- Determine PM approaches, key performance indicators and techniques for data collection,
- Discuss PM approaches selected and rationale for each, and
- Discuss strategies for integrating the results into organizational planning.
Finally, Bob and participants will look at the concept of organizational maturity in the context of performance measurement and how it relates to both an IM Program and its component functions and activities.
