Supporting Organizations

The Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities

Focusing on adult modeling, SACS programs prevent negative social behaviour through character education, conflict management training and building respect for diversity. They promote a problem-solving approach to discipline that encourages positive social behaviour by expecting young people to fix the wrongs they have caused, thereby learning from their mistakes.

All Safe and Caring Schools and Communities (SACSC) programs focus on the following five topics:

  1. Living Respectfully
  2. Developing Self-Esteem
  3. Respecting Diversity and Preventing Prejudice
  4. Managing Anger and Dealing with Bullying and Harassment
  5. Resolving Conflicts Peacefully

Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta (PSBAA)

The PSBAA is an organization, which represents the unique interests of 32 public school jurisdictions in the province of Alberta. “We champion public school education.”
Our Mission is:
To ensure the continuation and constant improvement of a universally accessible system of public education, which is locally governed, student centered, and challenging.
Our Goal is:
To provide constructive leadership – represented by effective strategies, advocacy, and communication – and to work with others, wherever possible, for the good of public education.
We Believe:
Public schools are the first choice of our communities, where all our children learn and live the values of democracy together, reflecting our hope and shaping the future of our communities.
